Ischgl-Tour 05: Rundwanderung Mathon

Starting from the church „St. Sebastian” in Mathon follow the main road for around 200 m (toward Ischgl) until you reach the Dreikönigs chapel in Mathon. Cross the road here and follow the signposts for „Rundwanderweg Mathon“. Above Mathon cross the Matnal river and follow a path until you finally cross the Valley hiking trail. Return section: from here you have the choice: Either turn left and walk along the hiking trail back towards Mathon or go right in direction „Wildpark Mathon“. Then cross the main road and make a short stop-over in the Wildpark, which is situated near the woods and has a petting zoo with alpine animals to offer. After a refreshing break the route continues on the other side of the valley along the Trisanna river to Ischgl. At Mathon east cross the bridge and walk back to the village.

The autoroute (A12 (westbound) or A14 (eastbound)) leads you to the Arlbergschnellstraße (S 16). At the exit for Pians, turn onto the Paznauntalstraße (B 188) and follow its course into the Paznaun.

With the railway station in Landeck, the Paznaun is optimally connected to the Austrian train network. From Landeck-Zams station, only a short bus ride separates you from the Paznaun. Every half hour, line bus 260 runs from there through the valley. Bus stop: Mathon West
